Biography

Graduate Academic Success Specialist, Department of English, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Kira Assad manages the in-person MA programs in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics, English Education, English (literature; comparative literature; writing, rhetorics and literacies), and Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages offered by the Department of English. She coordinates admissions and advising for the accelerated 4+1 programs and organizes workshops for prospective students. She maintains the graduate program webpages and handbooks. She assists the Director of Internships in promoting internship opportunities and manages the ASU Department of English Internship Facebook page. She also writes and edits articles for Accents on English, the department newsletter.

Kira Assad recieved her BA in English (Literature) and her Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at ASU. She also plays tenor saxophone and clarinet in a swing band called the Maestros of Swing.
