Biography

Lisa Barksdale-Shaw is an assistant professor in the Department of English and member of the
Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Her work explores narratives of justice by combining several disciplines including law, literature and medicine. Her dissertation examined how dramas present stage properties, like letters, contracts and wills, in early modern theatre. She is the author of articles and book chapters on Shakespeare and law is currently working on several research projects, specifically on written evidence, conspiracy and racial trauma.
