13th Annual ASU Composition Conference

The ASU Composition Conference seeks to gather teachers, writers, and scholars of writing from Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, the University of Arizona, and the Maricopa Community Colleges to explore the intersections between reading, writing, and communities. Not only does writing instruction foster student success in academic and professional settings, but it also encourages engagement in communities beyond the university, today and tomorrow.

This conference asks its presenters to interrogate the intersections between reading, writing, and communities, thus helping students of writing to grow more confident, critical, and flexible as writers. Specifically, the conference invites conversations about how readings are incorporated into the writing classroom, how those readings bolster student writing and support course outcomes, and how reading and writing can forge relationships between classrooms and communities.
