You are invited to a public screening of "A Knight’s Tale" (2001), a film written and directed by Brian Helgeland that stars Heath Ledger as William Thatcher, Shannyn Sossamon as Jocelyn, and Paul Bettany as Geoffrey Chaucer himself. Presented as part of ASU's Eighth Biennial Chaucer Celebration, the screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with featured speaker, Keith Phipps, noted film critic and author of "Age of Cage" (Holt: 2022).

The Chaucer Celebration at ASU commemorates the life and work of medieval author Geoffrey Chaucer with events such as film festivals, concerts, performances, and academic discussions. The 2022 theme is "Chaucer Returns to the Movies" and is sponsored by ASU's Dean of Humanities in The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Department of English and its Creative Writing Program, Arizona Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies, ASU Library, Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing, Institute for Humanities Research, Sidney Poitier New American Film School, and Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.
