English undergrad advisor recognized for excellence

ASU Department of English staff member Shauna Dranetz is being recognized for her outstanding work guiding undergraduate students toward academic success.

Dranetz, a program manager in English’s advising office, received the Excellence in Advising Award in the category of Experienced Advisor from The Council of Academic Advisors (CAA) at Arizona State University, a professional organization. The official presentation was made on Friday, May 1, 2020.

According to a statement from the CAA:

Shauna was nominated by her colleagues and was selected by the Excellence in Advising Award committee. As part of her recognition for her outstanding work as an academic advisor, Shauna has been awarded $1,000 that was graciously given by the Sun Devil Family Association.

Dranetz has been an advisor in the Department of English since 2012. “I have watched her grow in confidence and skills into the person she is today: a kind, supportive, efficient and extremely knowledgeable advisor and mentor,” wrote one of Dranetz’s supporters in the nomination file. “She is a consistently positive force in our department and for students in the ASU community at large.”

The Department of English congratulates Shauna Dranetz on receiving this honor and thanks her for her service to students!
