'Health and Wholeness': Read our latest newsletter

Kristen LaRue-Sandler

The new issue of Accents on English, the Department of English at Arizona State University's annual newsletter, is themed around health and wholeness, a seeming elusive concept in these fraught times. Co-editor Cora Fox's gorgeous essay on health humanities advocates for collecting knowledge from varied disciplines—like sustainability, race and gender studies, and the law—to better inform public health practices.

Read contributor essays about wellness broadly defined, including a philosophical critique of carceral architecture, a profile of a community servant-leader, and even a humanites approach to cyberhygiene. There's healing in humor, so a crossword by Alberto Ríos cheekily considers mask-wearers through the ages. Undergraduate Margot Plunkett details how she used gardening to nourish both body and mind (her abundant zucchini plants are the header image for the newsletter).

We hope you find something to nurture you here.
