ENG 499 INDEPENDENT STUDY ELIGIBILITY Independent study provides outstanding junior or senior students who have completed at least one semester in residence with an opportunity for original, creative, and intensive work. A student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better in the major or field of specialization [DEN 309]. An independent study course is neither a substitute for a catalog course nor a means of taking a catalog course on an individual basis. The course content and requirements must be worked out with the professor and become the Special Course or Independent Study contract.
